THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH A CBIWC
The Certified Back in Whack Coach [CBIWC] certification program prepares qualified* licensed healthcare professionals to effectively mentor and monitor youth who are using the BiW4Teens program. Youth who work with a CBIWC experience higher level of program success than youth who do not. Program success includes weight loss goals being met, adopting a greater number of healthy habits, improving abnormal labs and vital signs, improved mental and emotional wellbeing, improved energy and overall physical health. Youth also report they have a greater level of confidence in their own ability to be be successful when they are able to partner with a CBIWC.
ABOUT THE CBIWC CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The CBIWC certification program consists of a 10 hour Self-Study program which includes the following components:
1. Three-part webinar series to include:
a. Overview of childhood obesity - health issues related to childhood obesity
and key habits that impact a child’s weight
b. Overview of BiW4Teens program components and two program phases
c. How to talk to parents and youth about a touchy subject
d. Program outcomes and benefits
e. Facilitate a successful clinic visit
f. Importance of program incentive gifts
g. Using BiW4Teens documentation forms
h. Billing for sessions
2. Review BiW4Teens program outline
3. Watch BiW4Teens Program videos and become familiar with the companion
workbook
4. Complete the CBIWC exam
5. Upon passing the exam, receive a CBIWC certificate PLUS these extra
materials to ensure your success as a CBIWC:

c. BiW4Teens Detailed Documentation Forms Packet which includes:
i. Initial Contact

*Note – Qualified licensed healthcare providers need to have “health education” included as part of their scope of practice (i.e. registered nurses, registered dietitians, physical therapist, behavioral health counselors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical doctors).
