But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. NKJ
As you read about healings that took place in the Bible, you will notice the individual had to take action to receive God’s healing. Read Mathew 9:20-22. This is the record about the woman, who was diseased with an issue of blood (bleeding disorder) for 12 years. She believed if she touched Jesus’ garment, she would be whole (healed). When she touched Jesus’ garment, he turned and said to her, “Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith [believing] has made you whole.” Believing is a verb. Verbs are action words. Believing the word of God and acting on it, produces results. Let's go to Gods' word to gain greater understanding about believing.
Mark 11:22-23
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith [believing] in God. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. NKJ

James 1:6
Only it must be in faith [believing] that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who waivers is like the billowing surge out of the sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. AMP
Mathew 17:20b
I say to you, if you have faith [believing] as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. NKJ
LET'S SUMMARIZE WHAT THESE SCRIPTURES ARE SAYING ABOUT BELIEVING!
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and will have them. NKJ
God is serious about the health of His children. God also desires that His children live long lives. As you read scriptures about long life, you will notice actions that help support God’s desire for long life: 1) Stay in fellowship with God; and 2) Study God's word [give attention to], remember His word [do not forget], and keep them [God's word] in the midst (middle) of your heart [Proverbs 3:1-2, 4:20-22].
Sometimes when your are reading the Bible, you will occasionally come across passages that don’t seem to fit or they seem to contradict other Biblical content. You might ask, “Did God make a mistake?” or “Did God just contradict Himself?” ABSOLUTLEY NOT!! This section will provide you with a brief overview about keys to accurately interpreting God's word.
2 Timothy 3:16a All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
God is the author of the Bible. He accomplished this by inspiring men of the Old Testament (i.e. Moses, Joshua, David, Samuel, Jeremiah, etc.) and born again believers of the New Testament (Mathew, Luke, John the apostle, Paul, etc.) to write the records He inspired them to record.
The original inspired word of God was perfect as it was recorded in the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic languages. The original word of God fit perfectly together from the very first verse in Genesis to the last verse in Revelation. Since that time, when the original word of God was recorded, it has been translated many MANY times. Translators do their best to accurately translate God’s word, however there are numerous Hebrew and Greek words that are NOT found in the English language. How do translators handle this situation? They do their best to find English words that are the closest match that they can find to these Hebrew and Greek words. When this happens, it changes the original meaning of God’s message.
Whenever you come across passages that don’t seem to fit or they seem to contradict other Biblical content, you know that it is by error of the translator. You must dig deeper to seek God's original accurate meaning.
These Seven Steps to Biblical Accuracy will give you guidance as to how to handle passages that don’t seem to fit and/or they seem to contradict other Biblical content.
These Seven Steps to Biblical Accuracy were adopted from The Way International at https://store.theway.org/ If you would like more information about how to study God's word, you can order "Biblical Research Principles" from The Way International Bookstore.
This 8-week class is taught 3 times a year (winter, spring, fall).
This class has changed my life, and here’s how! It helped me to understand hard to understand words, verses, and content. As a result, God’s word started fitting together from Genesis to Revelation. It created a domino effect in my life:
Food, as God originally made it, was absolutely perfect!! Let's read what God's word says about the food He made for us humans.

Who (God) satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. NKJ
1 Corinthians 6:13a
Food [is intended] for the stomach and the stomach for food AMP

People in Biblical times were very physically active. Strength was a sign of health. In the Bible, ordinary people who were sedentary, were described as lame or sickly.
God formed our bodies to very physically active. He designed fitness into the blueprint of health. It should be no surprise that medical researchers have well substantiated that a strong fit body is a vital part of achieving optimum health and plays an important role in the prevention of multiple chronic diseases.
The Apostle Paul describes the importance of being physicality fit to do God's work in 1 Corinthians 9:27 But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit]. AMP
Paul was very serious about the state of his body's physical fitness. He handles his body roughly and disciplines it by hardship. He subdues his body - that is, his brain is the boss of his body and he expects it to perform how he tells it to.

There is a growing body of medical evidence documenting that the mind’s habitual thoughts and feelings have a profound influence on health and disease. This medical evidence backs up what God has already told us in His word.
Proverbs 15:13, 15
13-A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
15-All the days of the afflicted are evil, But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.
Proverbs 17:22
A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. AMP
Let's do a quick summary of what God has said about the results of a positive outlook. A positive outlook (merry, cheerful, happy heart):
Proverbs 23:7a
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. NKJ
Wow! That is huge! It sounds like it is super important to think about what you are thinking about. God provides many scriptures instructing us about what we should and should not think about. Here are just two of these scriptures.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true [the Word], whatsoever things are honest [worthy of reverence, deserving reverence], whatsoever things are just [to act on what is right according to God’s standard], whatsoever things are pure [uncontaminated], whatsoever things are lovely [acceptable, pleasing], whatsoever things are of good report [sounding well, fair speaking, attractive or winning words, not harsh]; if there be any virtue [superiority in every respect, good quality and excellence of any kind], and if there be any praise, think [meditate] on these things. KJ [with word definitions]
Eph 4:31
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, and with all malice. KJ

The body's stress response begins in the brain. Managing stress has more to do with your mind (thoughts, believing, and perceiving) than your body's physical reaction. Life is full of events that are beyond our control. While we do not have control over the events, we do have control over our perception of those events, which will determine how we react and are effected by an event.
Here are a few scriptures that provide guidance about perception relating to life, that can help diminish the stress reaction.
Mathew 6:34
So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. AMP
Isaiah 43:18-19
18-Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.
19-Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will ever make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. AMP
Mathew 6:31, 32b, 33
31-Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, what are we going to eat? or, What are we going to drink? or, What are we going to wear?
32B-Your heavenly Father knows you need them all.
33-But seek (aim and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His ways of doing and being right) and then all these things taken together will be given to you besides. AMP

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19-Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the holy spirit who is in you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and you are not your own?
20-For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. NKJ
Here is a scripture telling us that our body is a temple of the holy spirit. That makes the body, of the born-again believer, sound pretty important. That's because it is important. Taking good care of this precious temple is one way we can glorify God in our body. There are several actions needed in order to take good care of these temples. I am going to touch on just one of these actions. KEEP THE TEMPLE CLEAN!
Toxins are any compound that has a detrimental effect on cell function or structure. Toxins harm the temple. It is a health smart action to do whatever you can to reduce toxic build up in your body (temple).
In the next scripture, God communicates just how serious He is about considering your body to be the temple of the holy spirit. Do your best to take care of the temple. Learn about and try different ways that you can help your body detox.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16-Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17- If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. NKJ

Genesis 2:1-2
1-Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.
2-And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. NKJ
WHAT?? GOD RESTED? Does God almighty get tired and need to rest? NO! God is Holy Spirit. God made a point to say He rested because He is setting an example for us. We, being physical beings, do need to rest.
Jeremiah 31:26
After this I awake and looked around, and my sleep was sweet to me. NKJ
Psalms 3:5
I lay down and slept: I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. NKJ
Quality sleep is part of God's blueprint for our emotional and physical health. An important function during sleep is to repair and rejuvenate the body. It should be no surprise that medical researchers have found that not getting enough quality sleep regularly, raises the risk for many diseases such as depression, heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, dementia and many more.

Romans 10:9-10
9-That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10-For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
These are two key verses that tell a person how they can become a child of God. While these verses are short and straight to the point, there are several things you need to understand before you can confess with your mouth and believe with your heart these godly truths. I could explain these verses to you, in my own words, but it is always best to go to God’s word for accuracy. So first, let’s come up with a list of questions you might have about these two key scriptures. Then we will go to God’s word to find the truth and help you understand the full meaning of these two key verses.
Here are a few additional questions people have asked me when I am talking to them about becoming a child of God:
